| Tom Tykwer, and his actress and director colleague Nicolette Krebitz ("Jeans"), are frustrated with the fact that although German cinema continues to show signs of life on screen, the discourse surrounding it has run out of steam. They feel there's not enough exchange or discussion among actors, either publicly or between themselves. And so the idea for the "Berliner Zimmer" was born: At irregular intervals, it serves as a forum for passionate debate and competent shoptalk, analysing the old and inspiring the new. |
