Books

Books about Tom Tykwer's films aim to revive the screen experience in the readers. It is not enough to simply print the script, even though Tom Tykwer is fascinated with the written word as the basic form of a film: "Sometimes you can be reading dry, descriptive words and simultaneously recall the images from the film - and notice what a leap it is from the words to the film. But at the same time, you really know that everything is already contained in the words."

Besides the written words, it is also the images from the shoot - both on set and behind the scenes - which bring the film experience back to life.

Also published: a biographical story book by Tykwer on the cameraman Michael Ballhaus: "Flying Eye".
