| Following her acting training at the Otto-Falckenberg school in Munich, FRANKA POTENTE received countless offers for film roles. She first caught the public eye with the role of Anna in IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE (Hans Christian Schmid). Thereafter, she played the starring role in film and television productions such as COMING IN (Thomas Bahmann), OPERA BALL (Urs Egger), AM I BEAUTIFUL? (Doris Dörrie) until she had her national and international breakthrough with the title role in Tom Tykwer's RUN LOLA RUN. She enjoyed further success as the student, Paula in ANATOMY (Stefan Ruzowitzky). In the Hollywood production BLOW (Ted Demme), she played alongside Johnny Depp, and in Doug Liman's film THE BOURNE IDENTITY she was the leading lady alongside Matt Damon. In the German cinema film BLUEPRINT (Director: Rolf Schübel) Franka Potente played the double role of Iris / Siri, and in the English-German co-production CREEP by Christopher Smith, she has the starring female role of 'Kate'. Earlier this year, she started shooting with Matt Damon again for THE BOURNE SUPREMACY (Director: Paul Greengrass). |
