MATHILDE BONNEFOY was born in Paris in 1972 and has edited Tom Tykwer's films RUN LOLA RUN (1998), THE PRINCESS AND THE WARRIOR (2000), HEAVEN (2002) and his short film TRUE.
In 1991 she quit her philosophy studies in order to move to Berlin. She did a variety of jobs, before working as assistant editor for a digital film and video processing company from 1995 to 1996. After editing various music videos for such artists as Rammstein, Udo Lindenberg, Bobo in White Wooden Houses, and doing the dubbing for Claudia Prietzel's television movie KINDER OHNE GNADE, she took on the avid edit of LIFE IS ALL YOU GET (1997), through which she got to know Tom Tykwer. RUN LOLA RUN was her debut as feature film editor, and she was awarded the 1999 German Film Awards for her work.
More recently she has edited Wim Wenders' short film TWELVE MILES TO TRONA, (TEN MINUTES OLDER: THE TRUMPET - 2002) and the music documentary film THE SOUL OF A MAN (2003).
