Gereon Rath, a young police inspector from Cologne, is transferred to Berlin of the golden 20s in order to solve a criminal case - a porno ring run by the Berlin Mafia. What at first glance appears to be simply a matter of extortion soon reveals itself to be a scandal that will forever change the lives of both Gereon and his closest associates.

Gereon Rath, junger Kommissar aus Köln, wird 1929 nach Berlin versetzt, um den Kriminalfall eines von der Berliner Mafia geführten Pornorings zu lösen. Was auf den ersten Blick eine simple Erpressung zu sein scheint, entpuppt sich bald als Skandal, der Gereons Leben und das seiner engsten Vertrauten für immer verändern wird.
